Let’s cut straight to the chase here: a Japanese import that should have become the answer to all of Toyota’s boredom problems has arrived in Europe carrying a still reasonable but comparatively high price tag. The GT 86 is available in Europe for €29,990, which we wouldn’t exactly call affordable.
We could think of a lot of drive’s cars that sell for that sort of money, like a second hand Evo X, a new Impreza STI, maybe even an old E92 BMW M3 if you search really hard.
For that sort of money, we’d skip past the GT 86 and go for a more practical hot hatch, like the upcoming Focus RS, or the Megane RS 265.
The reason for this high price in Europe has something to do with the fact that it’s an Import, but also the high equipment level, as standard features include Smart key, Toyota Touch infotainment, dual-zone air con, 17-inch wheels, ESP, VSC, and seven airbags. Options include leather and Alcantara heated seats, parking sensors and navigation.
