Toyota plans a glorious return into the world of rallying, reason why it started developing the GT 86 CS-R3 model over a year ago. The rally coupe started testing last summer and it now seems to be ready to reach customers.
Unlike the legendary Toyota Celica GT-Four, the GT 86 is destined to race in the R3 class and comes with everything it needs in order to do so, including more power than the standard version.

Yep, the flat-four got tweaked to send 238 hp and 170 lb-ft (230 Nm) to the rear wheels, this time through a full-on six-speed sequential gearbox and a limited slip differential. A racing clutch with a lightweight flywheel are also part of the deal.

"This is a significant milestone in the GT86 CS-R3 story which brings us one step closer to the car's competitive debut,” said TMG principal engineer Nico Ehlert. “We have put a huge amount of effort into our testing and development program in order to deliver a fast, reliable and spectacular car for drivers and fans alike.”

The body got reinforced through mounting braces and a roll cage, while the suspension has been replaced with a high performance adjustable one. The interior is stripped to the metal and comes with a homologated racing seat and harness, as well as a racing steering wheel and other necessary accessories.

You can order one in both gravel and tarmac setup, with price staring at €79,000 ($89,300), VAT not included, if you order it before April 24th. After that, the price hikes up to €84,000 ($95,000), with deliveries starting in May.
