FA20 platform fans gather around and check out the all new Cosworth performance pack numero duo that will turn the Toyota GT 86, Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ into real track day rides.
Earlier this year, Cosworht brought us the first performance pack specially designed for the three affordable coupe, which was increasing the power output by about 30 hp with the help of a free flow exhaust system, an ECU calibration file and a performance filter. Interesting, but not enough...
The Cosworth Stage 2 is the real deal, because it will increase power from the previous 230 hp to about 290 hp and 307 Nm (226 lb-ft) of torque. This is done using a positive displacement belt-driven supercharger that can spin at 20,000 rpm, a custom inlet manifold & intercooler cores as well as a low temperature radiator and further ECU calibration software.
The upgrade is said to provide excellent throttle response even at low engine speeds and it’s easy enough to install even in your own garage if you have the tools. The kit comes with ECU calibrations for both the stock and the free flowing exhaust system. However, it would be a mistake not to install the free flowing exhaust, because you will loose about 20 hp.
Prices are not listed as they depend from dealer to dealer but the good news it that this won’t be the last kit in the series, because Cosworth plans to crank up the power output of the FA20 to 380 hp.
