Toyota FT-86 Promo Shows Passion Behind the Sports Car

Just about the worst thing to do when it comes to sportscars is to let a its development be dictated by a commission with sales graphs. That’s why we have so many sensible two-seaters that seem to do a lot on paper and nothing for the soul of the driver.
But it seems that the Toyota FT-86 isn’t like that at all, or at least that’s the message we’re getting from the promo video released by Toyota Global today. The video shows some kids playing around with some Celica and 2000GT toys, which will help them as engineers and inspired designers.

It’s a bit gimmicky and boring, but thankfully we don’t have that much to wait until the FT-86 is officially revealed at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show, which we will be attending.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
