“Wait what? Why would you spy a car that has already beed unveiled?” you might ask. Well, the following set of spy shots caught by our photographers have their purpose too.
Yes, the production version Toyota FCV has been unveiled about a month ago and since then, it also got showcased at an event in the US and got driven by Japan’s prime minister in the meantime. So, it appears that there is nothing else to hide.

Well, these “spyshots” actually reveal that there is nothing else to hide. They have indeed covered the car with a camo layer, but if you look closer, the car underneath is exactly the same with what we saw earlier. It’s like it wants to raise attention on the fact that indeed, those crazy shapes will enter in production.

Other than that, we guess the car still needs to be tested in each market it’ll reach to maker sure it works correctly in different atmospheric conditions. It’s fuel cell combines hydrogen stored in bulletproof tanks with the air from the atmosphere to create electricity and water as the only leftover, which falls on the ground through a hole at the back.

The system is said to make over 100 kW (134 bhp) and offer a range of around 300 miles (483 km), while replenishing the tanks with hydrogen would take around 3-5 minutes.

It almost sounds like a dream, yet Toyota wants to put the car on sale starting next year for around $70,000, believing that it will repeat the Prius history and make fuel cell cars popular.

Even consider it the future of transportation, since there are rumors it will be called Mirai (future in Japanese). Sounds good, but lets hope the industry will find ways to make enough hydrogen at a small price to sustain the demand if this thing is really gonna fly.
