Toyota Extend Engine Deal with Red Bull Racing

Toyota's partnership with Red Bull will continue for at least one more season, as announced by Red Bull Racing via a press release yesterday. The two companies will once again join forces in 2010, following a fruitful relationship inside NASCAR's premier Sprint Cup Series in the last 3 years.

With Brian Vickers being, by far, the most productive Sprint driver in the qualifying sessions this season – and his finally clinching a win for Red Bull Racing at the Michigan International Speedway – Toyota are convinced that extending their current deal with the team is the way to go for 2010. In addition, Vickers also made the Top 12 drivers in the overall classification, therefore qualifying for the Sprint Chase in the final 10 rounds of 2009.

Our partnership with Toyota has been a critical element to the success of Red Bull Racing Team. Both Red Bull Racing Team and Toyota share a common goal of being a championship-contending team,” said Jay Frye, the team's vice president and general manager, in the press release.

Toyota has supplied the engine and technical support we need to get our teams into victory lane and now the Chase for the championship. We look forward to the future with Toyota,” added Frye.

We look forward to continuing our relationship with Red Bull Racing Team - a member of our 'freshman class' in 2007 when Toyota joined the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series as a manufacturer. We are extremely proud of the team's and Brian's accomplishments, including their first victory and qualifying for the Chase,” added Lee White, president and general manager for Toyota Racing Development, U.S.A.
