OK, we admit this is quite challenging to understand. The info on this TES-CROSS thing is limited and comes only in Japanese, a language known by one of our colleagues... who is on vacation.
Luckily we still have Google here with us and with his somewhat limited experience on these strange characters, he told us this a concept car made by the Toyota Engineering Society, an organization part of Toyota Motor Company that was founded in 1947 and holds around 30,000 members.

Seems familiar

We’ve seen another project car coming from the same people last year if you remember the TE-Spyder 800. You know, the green hybrid roadster we all thought it will pen the upcoming small Toyota sportscar, that should slot in below the GT 86.

This one here, named the TES-CROSS, reminds us about the original RAV4. It has a short wheelbase, small overhangs, a roof that goes away to let the sunshine in and room for four passengers to enjoy the ride.

Underneath all that odd styling lies the underpinnings of a Toyota Vitz, with a modified suspension and room for larger wheels, while weight is kept to a minimum using resin panels for the body. Engine is said to be a supercharged 1-liter gasoline unit, which probably makes somewhere about 75 hp.
