Toyota announced that it is starting a new fixing campaign in the U.S. The initiative, which involves 735,000 cars, will be debuted debuted the company’s recalls, as the issues as not seen as safety concerns.

According to Reuters, the automaker will extend warranties for 235,500 RAV4 SUVs and address steering complaints for 500,000 Matrix and Corolla late production models.

RAV4 models belonging to 2001-2003 model year equipped with automatic transaxles might have rough gearshift issues, with the problem also potentially leading to a dashboard indicating a fault. Hundreds of owners have sent complaints related to the problem to the NHTSA.

Toyota will ask owners of RAV4 vehicles with extended warranties to visit their dealers in order to have their cars examined if they have experienced a shifting issue. The repairs will be performed free of charge, with the vehicle’s warranties being extended. To fix the issue, dealers will replace the engine control module and will even change the automatic transaxle of the affected vehicles.

As for the U.S. Matrix and Corolla vehicles, the cars from model years 2009 and 2010 may have steering issues. An investigation for the problem was opened by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) back in February, as a large number of owners had submitted complaints for this.

Toyota said that it will fix the steering of cars for which it receives complaints, adding that the Corolla models made in Japan and Europe use different parts and therefore are not affected. The repairs will be performed free of cost and have an estimated duration of four hours per car.
