It appears that the creme de la creme in technology won’t be showcased by Toyota at the Tokyo Show but at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show this month.

Toyota recently said to showcase its new Driver Awareness Research Vehicle on November 20th at 3:40 pm at a press conference located in the Toyota display at the auto show.

We don’t have too much information about the concept vehicle but it should be based on the idea of minimizing distractions for drivers. The presentation will also include two more important CSRC research programs:
  • Study results from a joint project between MIT and Toyota, revealing interesting things on driver distractions associated with voice command systems
  • Study results from a collaboration with Stanford University, employing a new driving simulator that will enhance our understanding of how drivers and cars interact as we move closer to fully autonomous driving vehicles.
