The car might be wearing a name with heavy roots in motorsports, but don’t let the Nurburgring badge trick you because Toyota only changed the way its bestseller model looks, without laying a hand on performance.

Hoping that you didn’t expect Toyota to use Lexus LFA’s 4.8-liter V10 for powering the Corolla ESport Nurburgring, we’re bored to tell you that under the special edition’s hood you’ll find the same ol' 1.8-liter engine delivering 141 HP and 177 Nm (131 lb-ft) paired to a, wait for it, CVT gearbox with paddle shifters. Oh, the excitement!

That being said, let’s move on to the things that really set apart the Corolla ESport from a standard one. The front bumper gained racing-inspired accents plus a new pair of LED lights and is now supervised by a piano black grille, while at the rear engineers and designers came up with a discrete spoiler and a diffuser. We would also tell you more about the 17-inch alloy wheels but since they don’t affect the sedan's performance, it’s enough that we even mentioned them.

Would you like to know more, perhaps about the interior? Alright, check this out: the cabin received black leather seats with contrast stitching and red inserts for the dashboard and door trims for a sportier look. That’s right, because the car only suggests a sporty attitude, which in fact is nonexistent. The suspension was also tuned for better handling but honestly now, that’s doesn’t impress us much.
