Toyota Camry and Corolla Special Editions Have a Price Tag Now; They Don't Come Cheap

Remember when Toyota redesigned the Camry to keep it desirable for 2015? Well, they claimed over 2,000 parts were re-engineered, and only the roof remained unchanged, but now they're doing in again, also with the Corolla.

This time it's about special editions, as Toyota announced the 2016 Camry Special Edition and the 2016 Corolla Special Edition, designed for "owners looking for an extra dose of both aggressiveness and technology."

That means both cars received exterior and interior features unavailable on the regular Camry and Corolla grades.

The Camry Special Edition is based on the Camry SE, but Toyota added a long list of new features. On the outside, the sedan received unique 18-inch alloy wheels with machined face contrasted with gloss black painted accents, smoked taillights treatment along with two new colour choices: Blue Streak Metallic and Blizzard Pearl.

Inside, clients will sit on sport fabric seats with blue inserts and blue contrast stitching. The driver's seat offers an 8-way power adjustment feature with power lumbar support while the front passenger seat only gets a 4-way adjustable mechanism.

A Dark Blue interior trim was used to decorate the cabin, while under the hood sits a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Corolla-wise, changes apply in the same sporty and aggressive manner as for the Camry. The exterior's aura was augmented using unique 17-inch alloy wheels with gloss black finish, rear disc brakes and three new color choices: Absolutely Red, Black Sand Pearl and Super White.

Inside, Toyota's best-selling model ever was embroidered with a black interior with red contrast stitching on steering wheel, shift boot and center armrest complemented by black mixed media seats, also with red contrast stitching.

The steering wheel offers paddle shifters while Toyota’s Entune Premium Audio with Navigation and App Suite and power tilt/slide moonroof will be available as options.

Now, let's talk price tags. The 2016 Toyota Camry Special Edition will be available for $25,715 MSRP, but production will be limited to 12,000 units that will run between August 2015 and January 2016.

As for the 2016 Corolla Special Edition, Toyota set a starting sticker of $20,635. Only 8,000 units will be built, between the same August 2015 - January 2016 interval.
