Recently entered on the market, the successful Toyota Camry mid-size sedan and the Corolla compact will soon be available with some special edition features, following to be unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show next week.
Don’t think Toyota needs to do what Scion does, shoving special editions each year to increase sales, because these two models are basically the company’s bread and butter. The Camry is the best-selling sedan in North America since God knows when, while the Corolla does the same globally.

Still, the automaker decided to give each one of them a more “sporty” feel rolling in as some extra bits both for the interior and exterior. No need to worry, the engines remain the exactly the same.

Camry super special

Toyota brags about having replaced/reengineered about 2000 parts for the new Camry, with only the roof remaining the same. Guess that wasn’t enough so here are some more extra or replaced features based on the SE grade.

The exterior on the Camry Special Edition comes with unique 18-inch rims with machined face contrasting with gloss black accents, power moonroof, smoked taillamps as well as two new colors - Blizzard Pearl and Blue Streak Metallic.

On the inside, you’ll get high contrasting blue stitching, sporty-looking seats trimmed in black SofTex, a sport meter cluster with blue details and white background, the Entune Audio Plus infotainment system, smart key entry with push button start, special floor mats and even a Qi wireless charging port for you handheld devices.

Power stays the same as under the hood you get the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine bolted to a six-speed automatic transmission. Only 12,000 units will be made and there’s no price info at the moment.

The “little crown” got more diamonds

The world’s best selling nameplate, with over 40 million units sold so far, now reached its eleventh generation, bringing a lot more style and features. The Special Edition model will be made in only 8,000 units between August and December this year and as with the Camry, we still don’t know the price.

On the outside, the car comes with unique 17-inch alloy wheels with gloss black finish as well as three exclusive colors - Absolutely Red, Black Sand Pearl and Super White.

For the interior, there aren’t that much additions, but you still get red contrast stitching, red accents on the dashboard and door trimmings, smart key with push start button as well as special badging and floor mats to complete the look.

As we said, there’s no pricing info at the moment, but do stay close as the automaker should release them at the Chicago show next week along with the two cars’ debut.
