Toyota Camatte - Actual Car Which Kids Can Drive

The 2012 Tokyo Toy Show was the venue chosen by Toyota to reveal the ‘Camatte’ concept. It is an odd thing to say the least, as it’s an actual car which is specially designed for kids. Thankfully, the car isn’t road legal and Toyota have specified that it should only be driven on private property and not public roads.
The Camatte comes in two different body styles and is easily customizable and repairable in order to get kids interested in cars and to help them develop a better understanding of how they work and are operated. It also gets a similar feature found in cars used by driving schools, allowing one of the passengers to override steering, throttle and brake if the situation requires it.

We honestly feel that this concept is quite pointless and we don’t really see how it would catch on, when go-karts are so much cooler, cheaper and a lot more fun than this, and kids will chose them in favor of the Camatte any day, without hesitation.
