Japan seems to like every kind of Toyota, not just the Prius. For example, the all-new C-HR crossovers has been made even sleeker and sportier, thanks to the addition of an official Modellista body kit.
Modellista is like an in-house tuner, Brabus for the masses and all that. However, their most recent work with the 86 coupe pales in comparison to this. It's like somebody forgot the C-HR is a hybrid for young families and turned it into a racing machine.
The Boost Impulse Style kit is mainly made up of inserts, not full panels. For example, the about half of the front bumper is covered up with extra aero elements. Modellista also included a brand new V-shaped grille and a bolder mesh for the bottom one.
There's also another kit called Elegant Ice Style (the one in white, obviously) that doesn't come with the crazy grille. But it's still radical. This one boasts more brushed aluminum trim pieces, for the door handles, mirrors, and side sills.
Around the back of the car, things are just as wild, as Modellista included two spoilers, one below the wiper and another up top.
Boost Impulse Style boasts a new rear skirt that's 68mm lower and adds fake exhaust tips. The real ones are hiding under the bumper. However, that's not the case with the ice-themed car, which packs twin 100x50mm mufflers.
There’re also a set of 19-inch five-spoke wheels and LED accent lights for the front spoiler and door mirrors. Inside, buyers can order accent lighting around the gear shifter, foot well, and luggage compartment.
For now, the Modellista body kit can only be ordered in Japan. This car won't be around in America until later next year, and we bet Toyota will try and pass this off as a TRD model or special edition, but only if the pricing makes sense.
Calling the pieces by their names is easy enough, but we think you'll get a clearer picture of the body kits by watching the video below.
