Toyota Brings Boshoku Interiors to Shanghai

For the first time in history, one of the less known companies within the Toyota group, Boshoku, will be displaying its products at the Shanghai international auto show. The move, which is meant to mirror the importance the Chinese market is beginning to gain for the business of the Japanese auto maker, will bring into the Chinese spotlights most of the products Boshoku has specialized in over the years.

The Boshoku display at the Chinese show will comprise anything and everything, starting with car seats and ending with a full grown driving simulator. At the center of the exhibition will be the seats for 6 different car models that the Japanese are manufacturing in China.

Alongside these seats will be similar products intended for the rear of the Lexus LS. Complete interiors (seats, ceiling and door trim) manufactured by Boshoku will be displayed on versions of the Toyota Crown. On the same model, the producer will also display less visible comfort features, like the filters for oil, cabin and air).

The driving simulator Boshoku will bring to the event is meant to mimic the interior of a Lexus CT200hl, giving the Chinese visitors a first hand feel of the products Boshoku manufactures for the model.

"The rapid growth of China's automotive market has been an eye-opener, and I recognize that this market is extremely important to the Toyota Boshoku group. I am very pleased that we are able to have an exhibit at China's international auto show. I would like our company to continue serving the Chinese market and its growth and development," said Fumitaka Ito, Toyota Boshoku executive.
