Since it’s basically the same car with more overhang at the back, we were expecting to see the Toyota Auris Touring Sports Cross mule this week on the Nurburgring. But that will have to wait a bit more, as the Auris Cross testing is still going on the same track.
The good news is that this time our spy photographers got a better spot and managed to capture the vehicle from a closer distance and at a better resolution. The bad news is that there are no news about it.

Yep, the presumably Auris Cross is still in the mule phase as you’ll see in the gallery bellow. Which means that the matte plastic moldings are still on the soon-to-arrive list and it basically looks like the normal Toyota Auris. But you can picture yourself how it will look by extrapolating that rear bumper insertion to the sides ant at the front.

Until something more conclusive will be revealed, you can admire the higher ride hight and the repositioned exhaust muffler, which now sits transversally and is mounted further back right under the bumper, to allow for a better ground clearance and a wider departure angle.

Mountain trails here we come... sort off. The only engine that could work for the Auris Cross in the wild is the 1.4 D-4D diesel unit that puts out an incredible 90 hp and 205 Nm, making it the torquiest in the range. But regarding that most of these cars will only climb on curbs, it should do the trick.
