Toyota is largely known as a maker of boring sedans, but in Japan they have a lot of fun with their lineups. Just take this special edition Auris hatchback, called the "Blackish Lounge". That sort of naming would never work in Germany, but it's just what they need to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Netz 'store' dealerships.
Based on the 150X trim level, the special edition Auris doesn't come with all that much. The interior sees new leather trim used for the seats, steering wheel and gear shifter, with a dark orange tint used to accent the stitching and the fabric centers.

A piano black finish has been applied to the central console, while the gear shifter and sheering wheel have silver accents. The dials and backlighting for the climate control system are blue. On the outside, the Auris special edition is distinguished by the 16-inch wheels and metallic paint shades.

The only engine available is a 1.5-liter DOHC four-cylinder with 100 horsepower. The only transmission option, a CVT, but you can order it with 2WD or 4WD, unlike the models sold in Europe. Prices for the Blackish Lounge start at 1,964,618 yen and go up to 2,159,019 yen.

Assembled in Toyota City since 2012, the Auris has been at the center of controversy since its debut. Wanting to highlight just how different their hatch is, Toyota used a transgender model for its debut commercial.
