It might not be a Prius, but Toyota's Auris Hybrid promises to be a very good gas-electric mix nevertheless. A report released today by the automaker's UK branch says this car is now available with CO2 emissions of 84g/km, the lowest of any car in the family hatchback class.
Auris Hybrid will be available from June with emissions of 84 g/km on Icon models only. The emissions of Excel models will remain unchanged at 91g/km. The reduction was achieved through engine refinements and a number of aerodynamic improvements, including stabilizing fins added to the rear glass.

The hatch continues to be powered by a 100 hp 1.8-liter engine running on the Atkinson cycle. In combination with an electric motor and battery pack, total output reaches 136 PS, enough to propel this very green family car from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 10.9 seconds.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
