Toyota has recently declared to boost production of the Highlander model at its plant in Indiana.
The production boost is said to start next year and this will also add 200 more workers to the facility, reaching roughly 4,700. The process will also benefit from a $30 million investment in order to improve the assembly line.
In the past twenty months, Toyota has invested almost $2 billion in its factories around the United States and Canada in order to increase production and more than 4,000 new workplaces were created in the process.
Currently, the Indiana plant located in Gibson County manufactures the Toyota Sequoia, Sienna, Highlander and Highlander hybrid models. The plant has also produced the Tundra pickup truck between 1999 and 2008.
