Toyota 2000GT EV On Display in Paris

January of this year marked the revealing of a new EV concept from Toyota. However, it wasn’t cutting edge modern car, but an extremely rare 2000GT, of which only 337 were ever made. Toyota engineers collaborated with many different companies in the creation of this very unique EV out of the 1960s classic.
The 2000GT SEV has a 35 kWh battery pack which feeds the drive motors which have been borrowed from the hybrid version of the Lexus LS. However, the car’s party piece are the solar panels fitted to the bonnet and the rear screen. Despite the fact that they are not particularly efficient, as they would require two weeks to charge the car completely, they nevertheless contribute, if anything, to a good idea in the making.

Now, after its demonstration at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the car is on display at a special venue held on the Champs Elysees, in Paris, where it is on display alongside the Prius family and also the FT-Bh concept, which you may remember from the Geneva Motor Show.
