The holiday season is upon us and no matter what you believe in, you’ll surely want to make some gifts this year for the ones you love. Just like every other year, BMW put together a couple of commercials specifically for this season and they are damn near tearful.
However, unlike every other year, this time they focused more on the future and the way we live rather than on performance and luxury. This time, they went at it a little different, focusing on things you definitely wouldn’t expect from a manufacturer like BMW that brags about its track performance.

That’s probably because they want to emphasize the efforts they put into creating a better future for all of us and while this might seem pompous, it’s actually the truth. That’s what they are doing with the i sub brand.

Their cars are probably the most eco friendly in the world and when making that claim, I don’t mean the amount of fuel they sip and the CO2 they emit but rather the entire process of making them too.

BMW is one of the few manufacturers out there that aims at building cars taking up the least amount of energy possible. For the i3, for example, they are using windmills and solar panels for gathering the energy needed to put it together. Furthermore, CFRP is made in the US, at Moses Lake, using energy harvested from the nearby lakes, using hydroelectric plants.

That’s what they wanted to emphasize here. That their products offer both performance that could land you on the moon but also a different view on the environment and the latter downright stole a tear from us.
