His entire existence is about football and his successes clearly reflect the strong desire the sportsman has to become the best there is. Previously playing for big Premier League clubs such as Arsenal and Manchester City, Emmanuel Adebayor is described as being “tall, skilful, strong in the air and with the ability to score and create”. This also reflects in the luxury wheels the sportsman enjoys driving.
At 31 the soccer star from Lome, Togo – a small country in West Africa bordered by Ghana – has managed to prove that no matter how far his target is or how hard it might be to get there nothing will stop him from succeeding. Voted African Footballer of the Year in the 2008, Tottenham Hotspur’s forward has always claimed his success comes from his faith in God. Adebayor has spoken about his believes saying “there is nothing more important for me than God”.

In a way this might be true, since his football career most likely started with his childhood “miracle”. Adebayor could not walk for the first four years of his life. When he was still a child, his mother took him around Africa looking for a cure, but nothing worked.

According to his words this is what happened instead: “I was in the church laying down and, around nine or ten o’clock on the Sunday morning, I could hear children playing outside. Suddenly somebody kicked a ball into the church. And the first person to stand up and run was me, because I wanted to get that ball”.

Why are we talking about miracles all of the sudden? Because we simply find it quite intriguing how things don’t really match here. Addebayor claims to be so religious, yet judging by his lifestyle and by the hundred-thousand-dollar cars he drives there’s not much humbleness to it.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe he posted with on Instagram recently is just one of the luxury rides he uses to show up at training. Last time we checked, he was also the proud owner of an Aston Martin DBS convertible and a new Fisker Karma.

On the other hand, maybe we just don’t understand soccer…
