Total Shows First F1 Grand Prix on the Moon

Ever wondered how a Formula One Grand Prix would look like on the moon? We're pretty sure that, as much as Bernie Ecclestone would fancy the idea, it's quite undoable at the moment. In the real world that is, because as far as virtual challenges are concerned, the French from oil company Total have envisioned the first Moon F1 Grand Prix.

Needless to say, the whole concept is comprised in a promotional video centered around Total's vision of the future. To be more precise, the French company – who is currently a major sponsor  of Renault F1's operations – tries to emphasize the importance of creating a cleaner, more environmental friendly fuel for the future.

Here at Total, we have always risen to energy challenges,” begins the promotional video, or commercial if you like. “Today, our job is to provide customers with more efficient, cleaner products and to help advance engine technology to improve fuel economy and reduce carbon emissions.

Tomorrow's fuels and lubricants will be the result of a judicious blend of innovation, enthusiasm, experience and boldness. And because dreams have always inspired invention, who knows, maybe one day we'll be testing our products on the Moon,” adds the narrator in the first part of the video.

Afterwards, the fun part starts, with the Renault F1 racer becoming part of a multi-car grid on a race held on the Moon. Needless to say, the other cars are not recognizable based on the current color schemes in F1, although at one point one car runs off the track and into the air, resembling the green-colored Lotus. But maybe that's just our imagination talking. We'll let you enjoy it now.
