One of the best things about Google Maps is the support for multiple means of transportation, so you can use the app even if you don’t have a car.
For example, the navigation app developed by the Mountain View-based search giant can also offer turn-by-turn guidance for walking, but at the same time, it also offers similar capabilities specifically aimed at cyclists.

This means that Google Maps can look for appropriate bike routes in the majority of regions, therefore making your journey not only safer but also faster.

Few apps out there come with such features, but this week, HERE announced that its mobile software can also provide bike routes to its users.

HERE WeGo has therefore been updated with support for cycling, meaning that in addition to routes specifically tailored to passenger cars, it can now also search for appropriate bike routes, just like Google Maps.

The new feature is available as part of the update to app version 4.6.

HERE WeGo is currently one of the best navigation apps out there, coming with a very advanced feature arsenal that includes pretty much everything users would normally expect from such software.

For example, in addition to turn-by-turn voice guidance, HERE’s application also offers support for favorites, parking locations, offline maps, a night mode, and so on. A walking mode is also available, and starting this week, the app also offers bike routes.

In the meantime, Google Maps continues to be the leading choice on this front, as its bike directions are already being used by millions of people across the world. HERE hasn’t provided detailed information on where the cycling navigation is available, but most likely, the company is already working on launching it in as many countries as possible.

For what it’s worth, HERE WeGo is free of charge, so you don’t have to pay anything if you want to give it a shot.
