These newer models were completely restyled, featuring shortened wheelbases and various other facelifts performed up until 1972, which was the final model year for that iteration.
It’s one such car that we’ve decided to show you today, specifically a 1972 Cutlass Supreme convertible that’s in search of a new owner.
Speaking of which, the car is currently owned by a major Hollywood star. It’s someone that has starred in blockbusters such as Requiem for a Dream, a Beautiful Mind, and most recently even Top Gun: Maverick. Fun fact, she was also the voice for Karen, aka “Suit Lady” in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
It is, of course, Jennifer Connelly, who acquired this car back in the year 2000 and has owned it ever since, according to the ad.
The vehicle has been refinished in its original Matador Red paint since leaving the factory, with visual features including the power-operated black top, color-keyed mirrors, dual exhaust outlets, body-side moldings, chrome bumpers, and a set of red 14-inch Super Sport II Rallye wheels with 225/70 BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires.
There are a few chips and scratches in the paint, but overall, we’re impressed by the state of this Oldsmobile.
The interior boasts front and rear black vinyl bench seats, color-coordinated dashboard and door panels, faux woodgrain trim, a four-spoke steering wheel, power windows, lap belts, a push-button AM/FM radio, but also a Pioneer CD stereo underneath the dash, connected to an amplifier and some aftermarket speakers. It’s worth noting that the air conditioning system doesn’t blow any cold air, which hopefully has a simple fix.
Under the hood is a 350 ci Rocket V8 engine, and seeing as how the car has dual exhaust outlets, we reckon the output should be 180 horsepower, instead of the 160 hp you got in the single exhaust 350 ci V8 variant. However much horsepower is still being put down, it all goes to the rear wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission, which has already been serviced this year.
The engine also comes with a four-barrel carburetor, a black air cleaner, plus a gold intake manifold, cylinder heads and valve covers.
