Top Gear is not really a show about car reviews any more, more of Jackass plus Ken Block and Bear Grylls entertainment mix with the BBC stamp of approval. It's a weird thing to say, but to prove our point, we turn your attention to the teaser they just released for the episode 2 or season 22.
It's about an epic road trip to using some of the most amazing speed machines most of us can't afford. Besides that, we have cows, dust, fire, crocodiles and… yeah, quite a lot more cows.
The theme of the show are big GT cars from different corners of the world. Japan gives us the latest edition of its supercar killer, the GT-R (it looks like a Nismo model), while Britain seems to offer a GT V8 S version of the Continental GT coupe. Finally, there's the Bavarian barnstormer that is the BMW M6 Gran Coupe, the second most expensive M model currently in production.
We can almost see the guys making jokes about the typical BMW driver, the fact that the GT-R is so old or that the Bentley is kind of fat and ostentatious in that yellow color. Oh, and they also took the Stig along for the ride, just so he can get all 3 grand tourers fully sideways.
We did a rough calculation and found that we're looking at 22 cylinders, 6 turbochargers, about 1,690 total horsepower and a dollar price of $465,000, not including any options. Why is that important, because all three cars probably returned to their local garages with lots of scars from all those rocks and cabins filled with dust. Top Gear – they get away with car murder!
