Top Gear Shooting in Iraq

We bet right about now Ben Collins, the man formerly known as the Stig, is eating his heart out. As he probably sits in front of a typewriter, digging up new ideas for the show he promised and failed so far to arrive, his former colleagues, the famous Top Gear trio, are having a blast in... Iraq.

Not literally a blast, we hope, but one which we all will enjoy close to Christmas, when a very special episode of probably the world's most watched auto show airs. The three, as you've already guessed, have gone to Iraq, to do their thing in the middle of helicopters, Coalition forces and a bunch of cars.

As some of you already know, Clarkson, Hammond and May are retracing the steps of the Kings from the East which traveled to see Jesus some 2,000+ years ago. Unlike the wise men, however, Top Gear's crew went in their pilgrimage using open top sports cars.

Somehow, they landed in Iraq, where this, let's call it teaser, was shot. Sitting in a transport aircraft, Clarkson previews a 12,000 miles journey to Bethlehem, through a few wars, through an audience comprised of a surprised Hammond with a helmet and a non-responsive May.

We have a feeling the video you'll see below is just the first in a series which will preview the Christmas special. BBC will likely release some more in the days to come, just enough to get your interest up. Stay tuned on autoevolution for more updates and videos.
