At first there was a horse. Then, they discovered the potential of steam engines. Petroleum was on the way, and soon enough the invention of internal combustion engine would change the games for good. Today, plug-in hybrids and pure EV are the new black. But if there’s one thing that stayed the same ever since personal vehicles were available on the market that thing was the option to customize your car. But even that is about to change.
We’re not sure you payed attention, but there’s a new trend in the advertising world that is growing as we speak. Rather than selling something straight to the buyer, you find a third person to do the job for you. Because let’s face it, when you have somebody closely advising on a product, you tend to trust him or her more than any commercial. And if that person happens to be your kid, then things get very interesting.

How does that relate to cars and the special aftermarket industry we feel is coming? Well, think of all the electric toy cars you find everywhere these days. They may be playthings designed for children’s pleasure, but we’re pretty sure the auto brand’s trademarks are right there for everybody to notice.

Kids are getting the aftermarket option

When your kid is happy, you are happy. Until now, auto manufacturers would be the only ones to understand that. They were the only ones to produce what people know as Power Wheels. Well, that is changing too. The new black in the automotive industry is, in fact, tuning your son’s electric toy car. That is if you are a rapper or some Los Angeles citizen. Celebrities do it already, but we believe soon enough every petrolhead will.

We have listed five custom car shops we think could make it big in the aftermarket auto biz for kids, but feel free to complete the list

1. JC Cuztomz

Since we recently wrote about both Chris Brown and Tyga getting special toy cars for their kids, we find it fair to put them on the top of the list. We have mentioned them on previous occasions, but this would be the first they customize not one, but five Power Wheels. In case you’re wondering which type of brands, you should know we’re talking about Lamborghini, Ranger Rover, and Rolls-Royce replicas.

2. West Coast Customs

The next fair assumption in our exercise can’t be anybody else than Ryan Friedlinghaus’ famous aftermarket shop. It’s here where the mad ideas of MTV’s Pimp My Ride show became a reality. Here’s also where a Mario Kart was created, so it’s only safe to assume they may just open a branch strictly for kids soon.

3. Dartz Motorz Company

When we heard the extravagant auto shop recently created a bullet-proof child seat that was adorned with gold and built out of Kevlar, that was the first thing we thought. Yes, if there’s anything crazier than lavish tuning in the Latvian-based company’s future, then it has to be something targeted at kids. They are famous for their Prombron model, so who knows maybe there’s going to be a smaller, golden model designed strictly for children.

4. Mansory

Oh no, we mentioned Mansory! How could we? With all the risks involved in doing so, we do be believe the luxury car modification company based in Brand, Germany is one of the tuners who will start customizing electric cars for kids. We searched up a little to see if they’ve done it before, but it would seem they didn’t so far. Since we all know about their outlandish body modifications, passion for carbon fiber and bespoke interiors, we say Power Wheels are next in line.

5. RDB L.A.

Last but not least (and we mean it, we’re sure there are a lot of other tuners we’re missing) we have chosen the famous Los Angeles-based customization shop. Again, we checked if they ever got involved in a similar project so far, and it would seem the answer is no. However, since we know they are one of the most famous auto shops in the famous-land, we’re assuming they will open a new branch when the time comes.

Editor’s note: You may consider this post amusing, but you shouldn’t take it as a joke. I’ve said it before, if I was to bet my money on a business idea in the aftermarket industry, that’s where my 5 dollar bill would go.
