Confronting with a real turmoil after the beginning of the second half of the season, team Forward Racing is making a lot of changes trying to find the best setup for the remainder of the season. Marco Curioni, the team's manager revealed that Toni Elias will be replacing Claudio Corti.
The change is yet to be formalized, Curioni says, but the IRTA has already been informed about the move. Elias first ride with Forward will take place at the MotorLand Aragon circuit, in a week's time. No news has surfaced as to whether Forward has secured bikes for the upcoming season, or if Elias is envisaged as a rider for the rest of the current championship and possibly, for 2016.

The move to Forward was also confirmed by the rider on his Twitter account.

A highly-experienced MotoGP rider that can cause some stir

Toni Elias is by no means new to the premier class racing, and he will be a very strong asset for Forward Racing. In fact, he is the last rider of
a privately-owned team to have won a GP race, back in 2006 at Estoril.

With no less than six seasons in MotoGP to his name and six podiums in his career, Toni Elias might be a good replacement for Stefan Bradl, who jumped boat at Aprilia earlier this summer. The truth is that Elias, 32, isn't exactly one of the young guns on the grid, but still he won the Moto2 title in 2010. Even more, if he can understand the customer Yamaha YZR-M1, he might become one of the riders that cannot be ignored.

The Yamaha package proved its competitiveness on more than one occasion, with Loris Baz' battle with Scott Redding last week at Misano, and the subsequent fourth place being just another proof for the capabilities of the bike.

This year, Toni Elias substituted for injured Karel Abraham at Indianapolis. Currently, the Spaniard is running a riding school for children aged 6 to 15 and owns a CEV team, Toni Elias Racing that fields Xavi Artigas.
