TomTom’s navigation app has finally been made available on mobile devices running the Android system.
The app is available for download in Europe for €59,99, which gets you as complete a map of the continent as they can offer right now. However, this requires about 3.4 GB of storage space, which is a bit of overkill if you don’t plan on leaving your country any time soon.
“Last minute plans? With the TomTom Navigation app for Android, driving somewhere new couldn't be easier. You've always got your smartphone with you, so navigation's close at hand. And losing signal is not a problem, because the app works not only online, but offline too. This saves you money on data roaming costs, and, you'll have constant access to the same maps, technology and world-class navigation as on our satnavs. It's the app that drivers can rely on,” TomTom says.
Now available on the Google Play app store, the Android app is being sold as an introductory offer, so we can expect prices to rise a bit soon.
Right now, the app is version 1.0 and isn’t compatible with many popular devices, like Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 7, HTC One X, Galaxy S III, and Galaxy Note.
