Tom Cruise to Play Carroll Shelby in Go Like Hell Movie

Word has it Tom Cruise will be playing automotive and racing legend Carroll Shelby in the upcoming “Go Like Hell” movie, that’s being develop by 20th Century Fox and “Oblivion” director Joseph Kosinski since 2011.
According to Edmunds, citing Variety, the 51-year-old actor has been nominated to play Carroll Shelby in “Go Like Hell”, although previous reports have associated Brad Pitt with the role. The movie Based on the 2009 book “Go Like Hell: Ford, Ferrari and their Battle For Speed and Glory at Le Mans” by A.J. Baime.

The story is about the Ford - Ferrari war of the 1960s, when the two companies battled for supremacy in endurance racing. Carroll Shelby was commissioned the develop the Cobra Daytona and later helped with the Ford GT40, a race car that won four consecutive Le Mans races between 1966-1969.
