Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz Shoot for Top Gear

As we told you a few days ago, two of Hollywood's A-list actors, Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, will be the guest stars of this Sunday's Top Gear show. In the UK for the premiere of their latest movie, Knight and Day, the two actors already filmed their laps around the Top Gear track, behind the wheel of a Reasonably Priced Car Kia cee'd.

"I like fast cars and motorcycles - I've always loved them since I was a kid," Cruise was quoted as saying by UKPA at the movie's premiere.

"We did timed laps. It's very exciting - we know the score and we want to tell everybody, but we can't because we want them to watch the show," Diaz added.

Neither the laps nor the car were the main attraction for the two stars while on Top Gear's back yard though. The mysterious, we'll-never-know-who-he-was Stig caught both their attention. Cruise and Diaz even tried to wrestle (not really) the guy's (or is it a girl?) helmet off, but they failed (weren't allowed) to do so.

Tom Cruise's presence on Top Gear's stage is not an accident, but a desire of the Top Gun. According to a show source, it was Cruise who contacted Top Gear for a possible appearance.

"And the amazing thing is his people contacted us. Tom knew we were filming so asked if he could give the old Kia a whirl,”
the insider said. "Cameron was up for it too so we're getting two A-list stars for one show. Jeremy Clarkson and the boys couldn't be happier."

On Sunday, we will all see if either of the two managed to beat Rupert Grint, the fastest star to go round the Top Gear track.
