Top Gear, one of the most watched shows in the world, is about to up the excitement of the next show by inviting two of Hollywood's finest to take a Kia cee'd for a lap-run on the show's famous circuit.
Apparently, Top Gear is taking advantage of the fact that Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz are both in Britain, to attend the premiere of their latest movie, Knight and Day.
According to The Sun, the two actors will arrive in Surrey today. For Cruise, owner of several sports cars, the lap run will not be just for the kicks, as he will really try to beat Rupert Grint's time for fastest star on the show.
"We've had some big names tearing around in our reasonably priced car, but Tom has to be up there as the biggest,” a Top Gear person told the source.
By the looks of it, it was not Top Gear who made the first step, but Cruise himself.
"And the amazing thing is his people contacted us. Tom knew we were filming so asked if he could give the old Kia a whirl,” the insider said. "Cameron was up for it too so we're getting two A-list stars for one show. Jeremy Clarkson and the boys couldn't be happier."
Separately, news of the Stig's identity having been discovered by a passer by on the UK’s M55 hit the web. The story was quickly swept under the rug by BBC, who said the person seen wearing the Stig suit was an impostor.
