Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz Hop On a Ducati Hypermotard

Two of Hollywood’s most coveted actors were recently spotted by the paparazzi hopping aboard a motorcycle while filming their next movie, Knight & Day. The actors in question, Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, were caught enjoying some quality time on the set. The two were just filming a scene which involved riding a two-wheeled machine, namely a Ducati Hypermotard.

According to 20th Century Fox, Knight & Day is scheduled for release in July next year. The action-comedy movie is centered on a fugitive couple (made of, you guessed it, Cruise and Diaz) on a glamorous and sometimes deadly adventure where nothing and no one, even themselves, are what they seem.

“Amid shifting alliances and unexpected betrayals, they race across the globe, with their survival ultimately hinging on the battle of truth vs. trust,” the film studio says.

Cruise, in fact, is an avid motorcyclist, who is not at his first ride on a Ducati machine. The 47-year old actor in fact owns a Ducati 999R, one of the most exciting roadbikes out there.

However, we cannot help remembering Cruise riding his motorbike to Kelly McGillis’ house in the iconic Top Gun movie. The motorcycle ridden by the actor in that movie, which was first released back in 1986, was a Kawasaki Ninja 900, a bike with a revolutionary design and which became the immediate predecessor of the modern-day sportbike.

Those scenes were also included in the music video for the Take My Breath Away song, which was the first single from the Top Gun soundtrack album. The song won the Academy Awards for Best Original Song and was strongly used by worldwide media.

Berlin's Take My Breath Away was used by Ford in advertisements for the Mercury Cougar in 1989, on a Peugeot 405 advertisement for the UK market at the end of the eighties, and on a Daewoo Espero advertisement for the Korean market in early nineties.
