Tokyo LED Trike Culture Is in a League of Its Own – Video

If you thought that the Bosozoku car culture in Japan is where things stop when it comes to customization, here’s a piece of footage which will change your mind for good. It looks like LED bike customization is becoming a form of street-rolling art for these guys. And I am saying this because we’re not dealing with a single guy who has loaded a ton of LED modules on a bike and pretends to play it cool.
As you can see, we can already speak about a solid group of motorcyclists who indulge in sometimes extreme bike modding. The fact that extreme modding is such a widespread practice in Japan is no news, but again, these guys are nothing like we’ve met so far.

Clearly a matter of personal taste

Obviously, this is arguably the coolest way to add custom value to your Honda Gold Wing or Harley trike, but you know what they say: beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What may look like the ultimate trike in the eyes of these guys will surely be much less appealing for others, depending on how much does a guy like to ride a Christmas tree-like machine.

To say that these trikes are over-blinged is an understatement, but some of them keep things to a more palatable level and even look cool in the night. One of the problems which may arise when riding in a group is that some might fail to see the brake lights turning on, and we know how wrong can things go in such cases.

However, since Japanese road regulations in this respect are rather relaxed, we might expect even crazier things. It looks like the motorcycle cop cosplay was definitely not the funniest thing Japan can deliver. And one thing is sure: one cannot invoke the SMIDSY excuse...
