Tokyo 2013: Honda NSX Concept in White

This white concept car on display at the Tokyo Motor Show is an instantly familiar sight with lots of people, despite not actually being sold anywhere. That's because Honda's NSX Concept has been around for a long time now, a constant reminder of what's to come in a couple more years.

The NSX was Tony Stark's car in The Avengers and after that went through a number of little changes. Being white for the first time ins't that important, white being one of the most common colors on the planet, but under the skin, the NSX hides some pretty cool features.

The official press statement doesn't say this, but the powertrain has been secretly revealed as being a tri-motor hybrid setup with two electric motors at the front and a brand new twin-turbo V6 in the middle. The gearbox is a twin-clutch auto with either seven or eight speeds. Given the setup, the NSX could reach 62 mph in 4 seconds and have about 500 hp.

Here's what Honda will say officially about the NSX Concept:

A super sports model which features the next-generation direct-injected V6 engine mounted on a lightweight vehicle body in a mid-ship layout as well as a highly-efficient and high-output SPORT HYBRID SH-AWD® (Super Handling - All Wheel Drive™) hybrid system, which realizes both outstanding driving performance and fuel economy. Moreover, the NSX CONCEPT realizes low and wide with the dynamic and alluring proportions as well as an interior design developed under the concept of a "Human Support Cockpit," offering excellent visibility and an exotic driving position.
