Tokyo 2011: Alpina B6 Biturbo

The second Alpina-tuned BMW to make its debut at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show is more about combining performance with luxury, unlike the radical B3 GT3 edition we showed you earlier. The handsome convertible brute we shot at the Japanese even is called the B6 BiTurbo and it’s based on the BMW 650i.

The big news is that the cruiser is powered by a tuned 4.4-liter aluminum block turbo V8 engine that has been taken to the max with the help of a new intercooler and titanium exhaust system developed with Akrapovic. The engine puts out a massive 540 hp and 700 Nm of torque.

Thanks to the extra grunt, it accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 320 km/h (199 mph).

In Tokyo, the car arrive sporting matte blue vinyl wrap while Alpina's massive wheels. Other changes include a rear diffuser and carbon fiber wing.
