Todd Parrott, New Crew Chief for Matt Kenseth

Although the echos of the Daytona 500 race can still be heard in the distance, Roush Fenway Racing applied the old "time's a wastin'' saying and replaced Matt Kenseth's crew chief, Drew Blickendersfer, with Todd Parrott, effective immediately.

"Veteran crew chief Todd Parrott has been appointed crew chief of Roush Fenway’s No. 17 Sprint Cup team with driver Matt Kenseth. Parrot will take over the role effective immediately," Roush Fenway says in a release.

Blickendersfer, who replaced Chip Bolin in the beginning of the 2009 season and helped Kenseth clinch last year's Daytona 500, as well as the following Fontana event, will move up in the Roush Fenway Racing ranks (or down, depending on how you see things) and get involved in the teams' research and development endeavors.

"Drew Blickensderfer, who has served as crew chief on the No. 17 since the start of the 2009 season, will assume a role in Roush Fenway’s research and development department."

The man who replaces him, Todd Parrott, is one of the veterans of the series, being among the most active crew chiefs in the series (the third most active, according to NASCAR figures).

He began his career in 1999, when he won a Sprint Cup championship with Dale Jarrett and since then he managed to take home 29 career wins.

In addition to this move, another crew chief lost his position. Dave Fuge, crew chief for defending Camping World Truck Series champion Ron Hornaday left Kevin Harvick. So far, he has not been replaced.
