With only a few days left before passing into the new year, NASCAR teams are still shuffling their ranks, in the hopes that new people in new places might make a difference in the season to come.
One of the latest moves on the NASCAR scene is the naming of Todd Gordon by Penske Racing as crew chief for the No. 22 Dodge. Gordon will be guiding Brad Keselowski in the upcoming Nationwide season, replacing the driver's former crew chief Paul Wolfe, who has moved up to the first series in the motorsports. Wolfe will take charge of the No. 2 Dodge in the Cup Series.
"The chance to join Penske Racing and lead the championship-winning team with Brad next season is the opportunity of a lifetime," Gordon said. "The No. 22 Dodge team had a special year in 2010 and I'm looking forward to coming on board and hopefully building on that level of success as we move forward."
Gordon has been race engineer for Diamond-Waltrip Racing in the Nationwide Series, but has also served as crew chief a few times during his career, with the most notable such experiences being those with Baker Curb Racing in the Nationwide Series and CJM Racing in the same NASCAR series.
"We are excited to welcome Todd to Penske Racing," added Michael Nelson, vice president of operations for Penske Racing. "With his strong engineering background and experience as a crew chief in the Nationwide Series, he will be a great addition to the No. 22 Dodge team."
