It was a very interesting race on the Hockenheim this weekend, where rain played a very important role as ex Formula 1 driver Timo Glock claimed his maiden win in the 2013 DTM Championship.
At the starting line, Timo was fourth but after 41 laps he claimed the checkered flag thus defending the BMW Manufacturer Title won last year. This was also the first Team MTEK win of this season.
The podium was occupied by another BMW driver, Bruno Spengler, that managed to secure the third position, whilst points brought by Andy Priaulx (sixth) and Dirk Werner (eight) contributed to the Manufacturer Championship Title.
In the end BMW finished the season with 369 points to its name, followed by Audi with 347 and Mercedes with 266 points. Unfortunately, in the Team Standings, BMW Team RBM lost the title in the last race, Joey Hand and Augusto Farfus finishing outside the points.
Overall, the 2013 DTM Championship wasn't bad for BMW Motorsport, the teams managing to win 5 races out of the 10 and claiming four pole positions. Furthermore, BMW was on the podium 12 times this season, a most impressive display for the team that returned to DTM last year.
