Tilda Swinton and The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe Star in Short Film

Known for... let's say individuality as far as her looks go and for acting in a number of both specialty movies and blockbuster mainstream flicks, Scottish actress Tilda Swinton was recently chosen for a rather special collaboration with Mercedes-Benz, concerning an international fashion campaign for spring/summer 2015.

The first result is a short art video in which the Oscar-winner is one of the two leading characters, with the other one being represented by a gorgeous Mercedes-Benz S 500 Coupe with the AMG bodykit.

OK, we are actually exaggerating about the S-Class Coupe, as the car is more of a supportive character in a very short film that may leave most “regular folks” a bit puzzled as far as its synopsis actually is.

With the rather surreal footage taken entirely in Tilda's home country, Scotland, the plot is certainly to stir your imagination in a number of ways.

“Scotland is a timeless and a mysterious place. It represents my origin and was the perfect setting for the subtly intertwined story we are telling in this film. Working with Roe, with my old friend Haider and with Andre with his unerring eye was incredibly harmonious and inspiring. And driving through the wilderness in this fascinating coupé was a dreamy experience,” Tilda Swinton said after the filming took place.

The campaign was realized by art photographer and director Roe Ethridge, while frequent collaborator of Tilda, Haider Ackerman, was responsible for the styling direction. The subtle camera work was done by Andre Chemetoff, known for his work on videos such as Lana Del Rey's “Born to Die” or M.I.A.'s “Bad Girls”.
