Let's be frank here - parking is the least enjoyable element of driving. That's why people want parking sensors and parking cameras. But a British man going by the name of Alastair Moffatt loves parking. The guy loves it so much that he set the record for the tightest reverse parallel park.
The successful attempt took place in the United Kingdom, in a place known as the Brooklands. Yes, that Brooklands - the home of British aviation and motorsport. Amongst a display of classic cars, Moffatt reversed his old school MINI Cooper into a parking space made up of two other MINIs.

On his first attempt, the multiple-record holder and stunt drive specialist put the pedal to the medal in reverse, then he performed a J-turn, after which he pulled the handbrake to slot into the impossibly tight space. The most competitive record throughout the stunt driving field is now Alastair's, leaving a combined distance of 13.38 inches (34 cm) between his car and the other two cars in front and behind.

That's 0.39 inches (1 cm) better than the previous Guinness World Record for the tightest reverse parallel park. Without the smallest shadow of a doubt, Alastair managed to put our collective everyday parking efforts to shame. "It doesn’t get much better than that," he commented.

As with any other car-related world record, a whole lot of dedication, skill, and driving precision is needed to achieve such a feat. The British record holder added that "a lot of planning, dedication and, of course, parking went it to today’s successful record attempt.”

Considering that he was already the record holder for the tightest parallel park (7.5 cm / 2.95 inches left between his Fiat 500C and the other cars), we would say that Moffatt is a modest character as well.

That's about it with the talking, now press play and enjoy!
