The first two generations of the Toyota RAV4 were offered both as a five- and three-door compact crossovers, but since its name says it is a Recreational Active Vehicle with 4-wheel drive (RAV4), I think that the most attractive version was the three-door. Nothing can express “recreational” more than a three-door RAV4 with a surfboard on top heading to the seaside... it’s an icon.
Unfortunately, the short-wheelbase version got discontinued in 2005 along with the introduction of the model’s third generation. Then, the automaker was busy with making the fourth-generation attractive to young drivers by coming with a more sharper design and an upscale interior, but it looks like it forgot about the cheeky short short-wheelbase model.
X-Tomi Design wanted to show us how the three-door 2014 Toyota RAV4 might look like if the automaker decides to make it happen again, and I’ll have to agree that it looks absolutely perfect for escaping the urban jungle.
