Not everyone is into the bagged look when it comes to cars and I’m one to complain every time I see a perfectly beautiful car ruined by such tricks. Unfortunately, this is one such occasion, this BMW E89 Z4 being ruined by one simple detail.
What you’re looking at is the creation of the guys from SR Auto, PUR Wheels and Europa Auto Design. All three companies chipped in and if it wasn’t for the extremely low ground clearance we would’ve loved it.
That’s because it does feature a Duke Dynamics wide body kit that is absolutely stunning along with one of their DM-Power Vented hoods that saves 18 lbs (8.1 kg) compared to the stock one.
Round the back there’s a new boot lid from the same manufacturer, as well as two electric blue tailpipes that go perfectly with the similarly colored PUR LG02 wheels that have polished lips. That’s where the cracks begin to show.
That’s the one element that put us completely off. Those wheels really don’t fit on the Z4’s curvaceous body. Just look at all those curves and lines and you won’t notice one hard shape. Everything flows from front to back, as it should.
Then you roll your eyes over the hard lines of these rims and notice that they simply don’t fit in. Chip in the extremely lowered stance and the relatively small size of the wheels and you get to see how this starts to resemble a tricked out Honda. It’s a damn shame too as a set of 5-spoke wheels and a normal suspension could’ve turned everything around. What’s your input? Hate it or love it?
