Remember the 1983 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am we suggested would make an excellent Halloween costume? Scrap that, we found something better. No, seriously, this is better, the fiberglass Trans Am was too much, even given the occasion.
This time, we want to show you a Buick Roadmaster, one that, at least for us, comes with a riddle. Believe it or not, this wacky creation is “presently licensed and insured (clear title),” to quote its Craigslist seller. By the way, the car is listen in Albuquerque.
Seeing somebody play the car modding game at the limit of street legal rules is nothing new, it’s just the purpose of the approach that amazes us. Nonetheless, the contraption may have had a purpose - as you can see in some of the images below, the car wears a message, aiming to raise awareness on animal freedom. While we could understand that, the car was now resprayed, being finished in... Beige.
Returning to the more automotive part of the story, we’ll mention this is a 1995 Roadmaster, which comes with a LT1 350 cubic inch (5-liter) V8 engine delivering 260 hp and talking to us via a dual factory exhaust.
According to Robert, the seller, the vee eight doesn’t burn oil and passes the emissions test, while the tires are in excellent condition. We are also informed that “All the steel work is 12 gauge steel and is in perfect condition. No body-filler was used on this car.”
Robert knows his ride is worth more than the aforementioned Trans Am, so not only is he asking $3,300 for it, but he also accepts cash and nothing else.
