This Video Will Make You Want to Get a Ducati Monster 821

I guess that there are only two types of riders who are immune to the street aggression overdose this official Ducati video comes with. It’s either guys who really are not into naked motorcycles or Ducati machinery, or those lucky fellows who have already made a deposit and are expecting their 2015 Monster 821. Even though I am not a Ducati fan, naked beasts like the Monsters have always looked appealing in my eyes, and the new 821 seems to be at the right distance between the entry-point Monsters and the 1200 one.

Even though we’re looking at the middleweight Monster, the 821 seems to have plenty of grunt to put a big happy smile even on the face of highly-experimented riders. With 112 horsies and three riding modes available at the press of a button, the 2015 Monster 821 should be a blast in almost any scenario. Some might beg to differ and say that the 65.9 lb-ft (89Nm) peak torque at 7,750 is a bit on the low side and if we’re considering everyday city rides, they might be right.

Especially in the Urban mode, with the max power cut down to 75 hp, reaching thrilling acceleration would be rather hard and some aggressive riders might feel a little frustrated, and tempted to never switch from the Sport mode. Those who have ridden any Monster before know the sensations are really addictive and the feeling of always trying to push the limits further is almost instantaneous.

Anyway, it appears like both Ducati fans and Ducati itself are quite confident in the capabilities of the 2015 Monster 821. After all, with the new liquid-cooled Testastretta 11° L-twin engine things are indeed expected to be stellar, and if the rest of the build is following the trend, then we’re most likely looking at another best-seller.
