This Three-Wheel Motor Scooter Is Designed as an Urban Cargo Vehicle and It’s Electric

So we’re all trying to switch to electric transportation, especially in crowded cities. OK, we get this part; it’s the only way our kids will walk around without wearing masks. But what happens with the regular goods-transportation? What do we make out of the daily mobing of cargo from point A to point B?

Well, for such deeds we could employ smaller vehicles like motor scooters or even bicycles. Right, several cities do that already - think of Rome or Paris - but we still haven’t solved the urban cargo drive part. And that’s why Danish company Trefor has come up with this three-wheeled motor scooter called Tripl.

It’s designed to be fast, agile and adroit, going to areas inaccessible to other vehicles. Not only does it help with relieving traffic congestion in the city center, but it also won’t pollute at all, considering it’s all-electric. As a matter of fact, because it is eco-friendly it will most likely come in handy in the environmentally restricted zones that are starting to spread around in major cities (especially throughout Europe).

It's powered by a high-quality battery supplied by Samsung that comes in three different sizes. For instance, according to its makers, with the 8.0 kWh lithium-ion battery, Tripl can drive up to 100 km (62 mi) depending on the number of starts and stops. It does take eight hours to fully charge, but you can also opt for the super fast charger that can get the job done in 4.5 hours.

Tripl also appears to be easy to maneuver, not to mention its speed that tops at 28 mph (45 km/h). It’s about eight foot long and four feet wide and weighs 664 lbs (301 kg) empty. The cargo area, on the other hand, can carry up to 440 lbs (199 kg) and hold more than 36 cubic feet (which is more than a Mercedes-Benz E-class wagon). It also has a 12-volt outlet powered by the trike’s battery, just in case you need some extra e-juice.
