We all know Porsches are the kind of cars that can easily turn into fetishes, but one thief operating in the UK has taken this to a whole new level.
As recorded by CCTV, the man went to London’s affluent Mayfair area determined to do his thing with a Porsche. Unfortunately, the thief came across a 911 Slantnose Cabriolet, but showed no mercy for the rare Neunelfer, slashing its roof using a lock knife with a five-inch blade.
The man then enters the car ignoring a passer-by, as well as the alarm that had been triggered. As we can see in the footage below, which comes from Sky News, the thief soon exits the retro 911, as his attempts to start the car failed.
As if ruining a Flachtbau's cloth top hadn't been enough (more painful details in the clip), a man matching the same description and showing a lock knife, was seen trying to enter a grey Porsche Cayenne in the same area of Mayfair. This attempt was even more of a failure, with the guy only managing to scratch the German SUV and damage its door lock.
Perhaps in an attempt to seize the day, the thief used his knife to threaten the staff at JD Sports on Oxford Street three hours later, aiming to steal sporting equipment. Considering his running habits, we understand the choice.
Given the man’s chaotic methods, we expect him to be caught soon. For one thing, his face was fully exposed while he was trying to get inside the 911. However, we doubt he’ll ever be able to understand the ways of a Porsche, whether a flat nose or a "standard" model.
