We can’t deny that technology plays a big part in our daily activities, making them a little bit easier to get by. As more and more robots seem to pop out every year, startup company Enabot didn’t miss the chance to introduce the improved version of its smart companion Ebo – and it kinda looks like Cozmo's got some competition ahead.
After its first campaign on the crowdfunding site Kickstarter gained a lot of traction, Enabot is back with more than just a cat companion robot. This new version focuses on connecting with your dear ones when you’re away. Oh, it also acts as a surveillance device for your home too.

Equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity, an 1080p HD camera, and a pair of wheels, this tiny smart ball is ready to follow you everywhere you go. It can ride on pretty much all types of surfaces, including rugs and carpets, and if it tumbles, Ebo can get right back without a problem, thanks to its shape.

The robot can detect all kinds of obstacles ahead by using advanced ToF technology. It can stop when necessary, preventing crashes and falls. It has 24-hour video recording, motion detection and infra-red night vision, being able to monitor every corner of the house. It’s a CCTV on wheels if you will.

It also packs speakers and a microphone, so it allows two-way communication, making it easier for family members to communicate when they’re away from each other. The robot can even pictures and videos and store them on an internal 16 GB SD card.

When low on power, EBO will return automatically to its charging dock, so you don’t have to worry about charging it yourself. It comes in two new variants, the SE and the Air, depending on your preferred options. The price tag for an EBO SE pre-order is $99, while the Air model is almost double.

Enabot’s second campaign already surpassed its initial $9,991 goal, raising $174,557. Shipping is expected to start later this year in July.
