By definition, a hot hatch should be capable of offering a substantial performance upgrade over the standard package that comes with the base model. Obviously, more power, faster acceleration, and a higher top speed are tidbits that feel like home on such a contraption.
But at the same time, an abundance of power, impressive acceleration, and an insane maximum speed are all words that we often use to describe Lamborghini’s models, and the Urus is without a doubt the living proof in this regard.
With a curb weight of 2,200 kilos, Lamborghini’s Urus is a rocket on wheels, being able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.6 seconds, and on to a maximum speed of 305 km/h (189.52 mph). And this is thanks to a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine generating no less than 650 metric horsepower (641 hp) and a maximum torque of 850 Nm (626 lb-ft).
For some people, these are performance figures that would truly make sense on a hot hatch, and Instagram designer Andras Veres seems to be one of them. That is why he created this hotch hatch rendering combining a Lambo and a Golf, all with the purpose of creating a model that could easily put a Focus RS or a Type-R to shame.
But at the end of the day, is there any chance to see such a contraption ever getting to see the daylight? Well, not quite, and you’d better not hold your breath for Lamborghini to work together with Volkswagen on a hot hatch. Or better said, don’t expect the Italian brand to become interested in such a segment anytime soon, as its long-term focus is likely to remain unchanged.
